Patuloy ang pagratsada ni Senator Loren Legarda sa vice presidential surveys sa harap ng tinagurian ng Issues and Advocacy Center na pagbalewala ng madla sa sandamakmak na television at radio commercials ni Senator Mar Roxas.
Sa pinakahuling nationwide survey ng The Center Pulso ng Pilipino na isinagawa noong January 5-12, muling hinatak ni Loren si Roxas sa isang statistical tie sa ipinoste nilang rating na 28% at 32%, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod ng banggit.
Sinundan sila nina Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay (16%), dating MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando (8%), actor Edu Manzano (3%), Perfecto Yasay (.37) at Atty. Jun Chipeco (.25%).
“Notwithstanding the television and radio advertising campaign of Mar Roxas, the series of natural calamities that devastated large parts of the country particularly in Luzon may have benefited Senator Loren in terms of name recall,” anang The Center.
“The lady senator is generally perceived as an environmental expert whose ongoing campaign for a conscious effort to address climate change has remained etched in the minds of the public.”
Ang survey ay nilahukan ng 1,200 respondents at may margin of error na plus-minus 2.8 percent.
“[It is] such that when mention is made of Typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng and Santi, the name that always comes to mind when climate change is discussed is that of Legarda,” anang The Center sa pag-analisa sa non-commissioned survey.
Kinaladkad rin ni Loren si Roxas sa isang statistical tie sa katulad na survey ng Social Weather Station (SWS), na ayon kay UP political analyst Prospero De Vera ay nagbabadya ng panalo ni Loren sa eleksyon sa pagka-bise presidente sa Mayo.
Ayon kay De Vera ay kamangha-mangha ang pagbirada ni Senator Loren sa mga pinakahuling survey lalo pa’t malaki ang hinabol niya sa likod ng matagal nang pagtatapon ng pera ni Roxas sa infomercials noon pang 2009.
Sa presidential derby ay tinabas rin ni Senator Manny Villar ang bentahe ni Senator Noynoy Aquino sa kanilang rating na 24% at 31%, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod.
Sina Aquino at Villar ay sinundan naman nina dating Pangulong Joseph Estrada (19%), Gilbert Teodoro (10%), Senator Richard Gordon (5%), Bro. Eddie Villanueva (3%), JC Delos Reyes (.25%) at Jamby Madrigal (.25).
