I was so happy here that although I had planned to stay a fortnight I remained for nearly a month. It is good to know that the water and food are safe, with no fear of illness. I enjoyed the peace of the attractive garden and looked with wonder as from the roof I watched dawn light up the snows of the Annapurna Range and Machhapuchere. Over 20 month ago I left Scotland on a round the world bicycle tour. Since the start I have stayed in well over 500 different hotels, guest houses, hostels and other establishments (and also one bus shelter in England). Some of them have been extremely pleasant places to stay. But I put New Pokhara Lodge at the top of my list. This is an excellent hotel. Both owners and staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The location is ideal, being close to lake and yet in its own secluded garden. The rooms are most comfortable and spotlessly clean. When I arrived I intended to stay two or three nights. New Pokhara Lodge is situated in the heart of Pokhara's largest Lake Fewa. Sufficiently set back from the main road to guarantee peace quite & privacy, there are just 16 rooms all with attached tiled toilets and 24 hours hot and cold running water. The lodge built around one of the best gardens in Pokhara. There is a sun terrace from where the mountains to the north or Lake Water to the south may be viewed and you can get a cold beer or a hot cup of coffee while you relax. All the rooms have wall to wall carpeting and are tastefully decorated. Each room is equipped with cable TV broadcasting more then 30 channels including CNN, BBC, Tens sports, Star Sports, AXN, Mtv, Channel [V], Now, Star Movies, Star World , CNtv, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, India's Doordarshan, Zee Cinema, including other top Indian channels and Nepal television. Long distance phoning, fax and E-mail service are also available. Should we be hit by a sudden power cut, you won't be left in the dark! We have a generator on standby.

Adhikari brothers have owned this property since 1985 and still managing it. Some tourists, who were here before were happy to meet these two brother again. Tourists who have visited this lodge like to come back and stay again. Lots of visitor have written excellent comments in the lodge's guest book about their stay, food, the service, and behavior of staffs. The lodge is family run establishment. The service is quite informal and unobtrusive. If there is any thing you need whether its information or wanting to explore the valley, how to have your clothes laundered, where to eat, all you have to do is just ask one of the brothers Mahendra or Jagannath. One or other is sure to be around and happy to be of assistance in making your visit just that much more of a memorable experience.
