 (Tibetan Refugee Camp)

Tashling handicraft center was set up in 1969 under the initiation of representative of central Tibetan refugee administration Dharamsala, India and Nepal Red Cross Society. Its main objective is to help the Tibetan refeguee by providing them job opportunities and support themselves. Our other very important aim is to restore and promote our age-old rare traditional fine art of carpet weaving and designs.

Our highly skilled and experienced carpet weavers can produce typical Tibetan traditional design and contemporary modern designs in any color combination and in any size reqired by the customers. We manufacture carpets in three categories: 100 knots, 80 knots and 60 knots.this means there are 100 knots per square inch in a 100 knots carpet and respectvely 80 and 60 knots per Square inch in 80 and 60 knots carpets.

All the carpets we produce are woven with finest handspun pure Tibetan Sheep wool imported from Tibet. The Tibetan wool gives you more warmth, luster, softness and durable.

We use high quality dyes from Sandos company and the carpet produced by Tibetan handicraft center are child labour free and do not contain the dye-stuffs which can release amines or any other harmful chemical.

Tibetan Handicraft center know as the Tibetan refugee camp. And it is the pioneer of Tibetan carpet industry in Pokhara, Nepal. This center provides job to Tibetans from the camp and local Nepalese. The profits of the handicraft center is used for the education, health care, sanitation, looked after old age and physically handicapped Tibetan people of this refugee camp.

The craft of the Tibetan carpet weaving is one of the most ancient and exotic craft in Tibet. This skill was developed in 7th century by east Turkistan and Mongolian nomads. It provides wide range of designs and color combination. Every single modif has a special traditional meaning and signifies blessings: such as power, prosperity and good luck etc to the user.

We make any size of carpet as customer's requirements, in different style and color.

Knots means there are 100 knots per square inch in a 100 knots Carpet and respectively 80 and 60 knots per Square inch in 80 and 60 knots carpets.

We are not accepting Credit Cards because Nepal has no Cyber Law to accept Credit card through websites. May be few years later we will have that facility.

The price is depends on your country ,quantity, and shipping company. So if you order high volume the price will be less. We use DHL and UPS. If the client is able to pick up carpet from nearest international airport then this time shipping cost could go down because we can use local cargo agent.
